Bachelors in Landscape Architecture
The new Landscape Architecture professional degree program is unique in its collaborative format. Administered by the College of Architecture, the new five year BLA degree will be taught in a collaborative way by the Architecture, Horticulture and Agronomy, and Community and Regional Planning programs. This arrangement will provide students in the program a broad education through exposure to the knowledgable faculty of the many disciplines that impact their field while at the same time establishing a strong design studio core as an integrative environment.
The goal of this program is to educate future design professionals in the field of Landscape Architecture, who will have the ability and are committed to an interdisciplinary approach to crafting the environment. Whether it be addressing land based, urban or rural design problems or focusing on the analysis of natural resource issues, the graduates of this program will have the skills and knowledge, using state of the art technology, to synthesize various forms of data and collaboratively develop solutions to design problems in the built and natural environment.
